‘Breaking Dawn’ Screenwriter Admits It’s Difficult Fitting All The New Characters Into the Breaking Dawn Movie

MTV was lucky enough to catch up with the busy Breaking Dawn movie screenwriter, Melissa Rosenberg, and chat a little about her progress with the script so far. Melissa admitted she is having a challenging time fitting all the new characters into the Breaking Dawn movie. Here is what she had to say about it:

“It’s extremely challenging to introduce those new characters because you already have quite a slew of characters to service. The Cullen family is large, the wolf family is large, you have three leads … finding room for all of them is a challenge. For me, it is about pulling forward the ones that are essential and really making sure they have a presence.”

*Melissa didn’t say specifically which characters would or would not appear in the films, but simply that she hopes “all of them will be there in one shape or another.”

Regarding the fans, she had this to say:

“At one point, [the fans] were upset because they had gotten the impression that I was choosing not to put the birthing scene in the script, and I was able to go online and say, ‘I don’t know where that idea came from, but of course the birthing scene is going to be in.’ ” Another Net-generated rumor, according to Rosenberg, is that she won’t include the Book of Jacob in the final film. “I don’t know where that idea came from, but that is not true,” she confirmed. “We are going to see Jacob’s perspective equally, so don’t worry.”

‘Breaking Dawn’ Casting Rumors: Lee Pace Potential Garrett?

A recent E! Online report that Lee Pace , who is known for his role in “Pushing Daisies,” could possibly snag the role of nomad vampire Garrett in the Breaking Dawn movie has Twi-Hards questioning if this is official, or not. E! reports that Lee is ‘thisclose’ to landing his spot in Breaking Dawn, however Gossip Cop has a different view.

Gossip Cop has checked with their sources and reported the following:

“A production source tells Gossip Cop no one has been cast, and a rep for Pace informs us the actor has not been approached.

So while it’s certainly possible that Pace tops a current wish list for producers, Summit, or director Bill Condon — much like Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s loose “connection” to Batman 3 — Pace’s casting shouldn’t be considered imminent.”

Remember, this is a possibility – and Gossip Cops ’sources’ could just be holding back because they don’t want the public to know anything yet. Take everything in these early stages with a grain of salt.

Michael Sheen (aka Aro) talks ‘Breaking Dawn’

FEARnet.com recently had the pleasure of chatting with Michael Sheen, who many of you know plays Aro of the Volturi. During the interview he talked a little about the Breaking Dawn movie! Upon being asked about his involvement in Breaking Dawn, here’s what Michael had to say:

As for the fate of his Twilight character in Breaking Dawn, Sheen remarked, “Well, there’s no secret, because there’s a book out, so you just have to read the book to find out what happens. But it’s still early days really. There’s no script and nothing’s been set up definitely yet. I’m hoping it’ll all work out.”

13. Good times

Hey. Just thought I’d let you know, that while Leah is settling into her new life in North Vancouver, Canada, I’d set a few entries from Jacob’s point of view. Now, they’re probably not as good as Meagan’s who writes Jacob’s Diary, because she can write from his point of view and get everything right! But I tired. They are set a month and a half after Leah left, so I hope you enjoy them! :)

-   Jacob, Black

“You ready to go, Ness?” I asked, tousling her brown curls.

Edward was hovering at the doorway, his hands laced together behind his back. I knew he was worried. Bella hugged her daughter. “Be careful, Jacob,” she said, not looking at me.

Nodding, I ran into the trees feeling the familiar shiver down my spine. Heat exploded from inside my ribcage, the fire expanding until it covered the whole length of my body. My back lengthened, my arms and legs became paws, claws protruded from them and dug deeply into the earth. My head transformed into the muzzle of a wolf. I howled up through the canopy of leaves, the twisting branches shuddering, raining down autumn leaves – which got caught in my fur. I shook most of them off, but I knew some of them were still lodged in there as I padded back towards the house. Nessie’s arm’s were sprawled out, her eyes grew big and lively. She wanted to curl her fingers through my fur. I showed a wolfy grin and nudged her.

“There you go, now keep a tight hold,” Bella exclaimed helping her daughter onto my back. “Don’t let go of Jacob, do you understand?” Her voice was now firm, motherly.

“I will, mom,” Renesmee assured. I never really had thought of Bella being a mother, except with my children, but things had turned out differently. I was now imprinted with her daughter. Maybe one day we can be together properly, get married and have kids of our own, if that’s possible. Not that I cared about that yet. For now, I just want to protect Nessie, I thought to myself.

In the distance, Edward’s brow furrowed. Maybe you shouldn’t listen to my thoughts if you don’t like them, I joked. He retreated inside the house, his expression sour. Bella watched him walk away, her face etched in concern. “What have you thought about now?” she asked. I snorted back, “As if I’d say anything to annoy him.”

“I never really have had a chance to see you in your wolf-form again since you had the training sessions with Jasper, when Victoria was after me,” the last words choked out from Bella’s mouth. Her memories were smothered by a thick condensed fog.

Bella could tell what my eyes were asking before I could finish. “Jasper’s fine, a little emotionally scarred from Roxanne, but him and Alice are going to Paris soon for a little time alone. They’re never apart these days,” she half laughed.

“Are we going?” Nessie moaned from my back, her little rug sack jingling from between her shoulder blades. “I want to go to La Push, to see Claire and the wolves.”

Her speech had improved dramatically and sometimes she preferred to use it rather than her special talent, but she had told me one day when she had me playing handstands out on the front lawn that it would always be the best way to show her feelings.

Oh hell, it’s like she’s an adult in a child’s body. Everything about her was matured, maybe even in a few more months she could look like fully grown teenager. Her growth rate had been speeding up rapidly lately, and we were worried. We had no idea why it was speeding up, and Carlisle was thinking about flying out  to ask Nahuel about it. Edward would go with him, after all she is his daughter.

“Yes, go and get yourselves away,” Bella interrupted my thoughts, Edward properly watching them. I flashed the image of me with Bella, when she was human, of course, in the sleeping bag the night before the battle with the newborns; I knew he would be laughing, properly mocking my choice. I could have chosen my kiss with Bella on the edge of the cliff, but I knew that would be a dagger to his frozen heart. “Don’t be long, we’re going hunting later.”

I let out a low growl from the back of my throat. “You can come as well,” she smiled. With my tongue lolling out, I pushed her with my nose back to the house and when she was gone I set off. Renesmee was laughing joyfully; her fingers clasped the fur at the nape of my neck as we raced through the woods. We even caught sight of Paul and Jared running patrol. Renesmee waved, but I doubt they saw her. Not that she was hard to miss. She was a diamond amongst everything else, the gleam of light at the end of a dark tunnel.  My reason to live.

As I ran for the La Push beach where Quil and Claire were, Nessie’s fingers pulled out each leaf that had  lodged itself in my wolf coat. She talked about everything she had been doing lately, it made my heart ache, in a good way, when she told me everything. “I wrote a song for you, Jacob. My dad made one for my mom when they met, so I thought about writing one for you. It’s called Jacob’s Melody. Not very original, I know,” she giggled. “But I thought about how much you mean to me and it just came to me, like the notes fled to my fingers and they played across the piano. My mom says it’s beautiful.” If I were human, I would have been crying as my heart swelled thrice its size. I would properly end up being called spineless by the pack, but hearing her say that made my breaths stifle. “I’ll play it for you when we get back to the house, after we hunt of course. I will beat you this time; you can’t always get the biggest kill,” she said, her voice soft, melodic.

With Nessie getting bigger, and more mature, she hunted just like the rest of us – catching the bigger animals. She had won a few times, and when she did, she would grasp me into a hug, a spark igniting on my skin when she touched me.

When we arrived at the beach, Renesmee ran ahead and greeted Quil, who was sitting with little Claire near the rock pools, her small body covered in sand that clung to her skin. I headed towards the fringe of forest that surround La Push beach and got ready. A few moments later, I was watching Renesmee and Claire by the sea: her skin was glowing with embedded diamonds when the sunlight bounced off her, her brown coils of hair springing in the air, her laughter like a soft tune to my ears.

“Hey Quil, how are y’ah” I asked walking down to him.

He dusted his jeans his wet sand covered jeans off. “I’m good, but Claire’s been burying me in the sand. I swear I have some in my ears, I can’t hear anything,” he smiled, shaking a finger in his ear.

I snorted. “That explains it. Has Seth got in contact with Leah, or even Sam?”

“Yeh, Seth picked up the phone when she called. Didn’t say much except she’s there in North Vancouver. Enrolled in a college up there, I think,” he watched Claire and Nessie down by the ocean with wide protective eyes; they were running towards the sea and retreating when it chased after them.

I scowled as I kicked a discarded juice box. “Sam isn’t happy, but I’m glad Leah is settled and we know she’s safe.”

“Jacob, are you actually being sentimental towards Leah? You always used to be at each other’s throats,” he asked mockingly, sarcasm dripping from his tone.

“Ha ha! Don’t go getting all corny on me. Leah was having a hard time being the only female shifter, so I’m just glad she’s happy, finally.”

“Jacob,” Renesmee shouted, running up. Claire was holding her hand, dashing up to Quil; he pulled her into a warm hug. She was panting breathlessly. “Are you coming down, you said you would come in the ocean with me.”

I pulled myself up, and walked down with her. “You were talking about Leah?” she questioned, raising an arched eyebrow.

“Yep. She is happy with family up in Canada,” I replied. My thoughts drifted temporarily when I saw the sun dance upon her skin, it was like light shattering off mirror shards. She is truly beautiful.

I pulled myself from my daydream. Her brown eyes were warm and filled with tenderness, framed by long dark lashes. “How long has it been since she left?” She questioned.

“A month and a half, Seth and Sue are the only one’s she’ll talk to.”

Nessie sighed and the quiet stretched until we reached the water’s edge, and then there was only shrill cry’s of joy as I splashed her, and she returned the favour. The small fish swam around our feet, as we ran around living and glorying in the moment. This was how it was meant to be, no chaos, just bliss.

For once patrolling, Leah, the pack, the Cullen’s, my family were not on my mind. It was just us. Me and Renesmee playing in the ocean; its white froth showering down on us as it crashed into the rocks, the smell of brine from the sea sticking to our tongues. Afterward, we walked up to Quil and Claire, our clothes soaked with salt water, and sat down pulling juice boxes from the picnic basket and sipping on them thirstily.

The day flew in a flurry of delight and pleasure. It was like an island paradise, but better.

When the sun was dipping beyond the horizon, a bleached ribbon hovering above the cobalt ocean, we lay watching the clouds float across the sky; our still-saturated clothes stuck to our skin. A faint buzz made my pull my old, half-crushed, phone from my pocket and yank it open, scanning the text message twice.

I stood up, pulling Ness with me. “We have to get back.”

“Why?” she asked, her face portraying a deep shock and sadness, she had no idea how much I felt the same. “I don’t want to go home yet, I want to stay here with you!” She stomped her foot, and I felt like grabbing her into a hug and never leaving, just staying with her,  but I held back.

“Neither do I, honey, but we have to go,” I said, patiently.

“Tell me why?” She flashed an appealing smile, as if to beg me to tell her.

My throat constricted, anger simmering, my fists clenched. “You have a visitor.”

“Who?”

“Nahuel, the vampire hybrid like yourself.”

A faint blemish caressed her cheekbones. “He came here?”

They had played when they were kids, Edward and Bella, taking her with them when they went to visit the Amazonian Coven. The leech would visit when Renesmee was there, with his carer Huilen. I knew that he might be some competition when it came to wanting to be with Ness, but I couldn’t even think about not having her for myself. It would kill me, but I’d let her go. Maybe I did understand why Edward left Bella after her Birthday disaster.

That last thing I remembered was the wind threading through my hair and my fury wire thin, ready to snap.

Breaking Dawn (fan made poster)

Here is another fan made (manip) Breaking Dawn movie poster I just made. I threw this in my computers trash so many times, and pulled it back out to finish it. I’m not too proud of this one because my goodness their skin was colored so weird in the photoshoots I took the pics from. But, I’m adding it here anyway… why not.

What will be the theme of the ‘Breaking Dawn’ soundtrack?

By: Amy Urwin

Breaking Dawn news is pretty slow lately, so I thought I’d just post a quick question for you regarding the Breaking Dawn soundtrack: The soundtracks so far for the Twilight movies have all been heavily themed around the events that happen in the films and books, of course. For example: for Twilight is was the theme of true love at first sight and discovering new things, like vampires.

For New Moon the soundtrack had a lot less energy and the songs were about coping when a loved one leaves you – and finding someone else to repair the damage. Lastly, Eclipse was primarily themed around having to make a choice. Everyone wants their own Edward and Jacob to choose from, right? That soundtrack was definitely a hit!

So, what do you think the Breaking Dawn soundtrack will revolve around: Being with someone forever, eternity? Immortality? Leaving behind those you love (in Bella’s case, her family)? A new life? What artists do you picture being in the Breaking Dawn soundtrack? Will Breaking Dawn part 1 (wedding, honeymoon) have an epic love-themed sound, while Breaking Dawn Part 2 is more dark and eerie?

Also, I thought I’d share my first Breaking Dawn Manip, which I made last week. (Maybe I should have faded Edward a bit, it looks strange him being bigger than Bella :P ) Hopefully I’ll be making more soon.

Edit: Amy is also the writer of the Daybreak Chronicles story (above), so a lot of you are probably already following her. If you’re not feel free to follow her Twitter here & ‘like’ her on Facebook here to discuss her article topics!

P.S. Great job on your first ever manip Amy! It’s way better than my first ever manip :)
