1. Accusation
First of all I just want to ‘thank’ Krystal for giving me this chance!
Next, I have to say that this, I hope, is a bit different from Bella’s Diary or even Jacob’s Diary (Welcome Meagan!) Each entry will be from a different point of view, at the top of each new entry I will post from whom view it is from. Lastly: Enjoy and I hope you like it!
- Marcus, Volturi
Shrouded in darkness my brothers sat proudly against their mahogany thrones, our followers encircling us in the tower room. Renta was watching Aro closely, her fingers no longer sewn to his robes. Having the ability to shield physical attacks I could sense she felt no bloodlust or any desire to fight in a battle. She could divert any attack that was coming for her, her main priority was Aro – my brother – but she was a determined creature, she wanted to protect us all.
“They have come!” Caius’s voice ricocheted from the thin tower walls, which were as grey and dreary as the dim lit sky.
Demetri and Felix strode through the grand doors and dragging behind them a struggling vampire. I could hear female screams from the reception area, I knew Afton would be holding the vampire back – Gianna the human secretary trying to help. “Michael! Michael,” it screamed in anguish.
Forced from the shoulders down, his knee’s cracking against the stone floor, the vampire Michael raised his angular face and stared narrowly into my eyes.
The doors shut swiftly and all shouts and screams from the back rooms ceased to exist. I knew she would be dealt with outside.
The light from the two turret windows sliced through the darkness, there was no artificial lights here in the heart of the Volturi. Our pale, thin, boned fingers glistened in the pale hued light as they dangled from the three great mahogany chairs; the prisoner was in direct sunlight. His mousy brown hair was streaked over his face, the blood red eyes veined with unborn natural terror, he released a federal snarl from his blooded cracked lips – Felix had done well before entering.
Caius was grateful for any trial that was preceded his way, and we knew it. His almost translucent skin gleamed with the pleasure of a coming execution, and the next meal – which thanks to Heidi, was walking steadily through the many corridors towards the immense chamber in which we sit.
Aro on the other hand was in a state of disarray, after losing the Cullen’s to the battle of the unknown immortal child a few months back, and was never in worse circumstances.
“You stand accused of killing a human in front of an audience, a human crowd,” Caius hissed through clenched teeth. “Your punishment is death.”
The vampire convict was unstable; he yelped and pleaded for his life. Excavating through his mind I became saturated into his relationships, I could smell the strength of the bond between himself and his wife, Caroline.
I could see her trashing about in the reception while looking deeper into his relationships – her blonde hair falling over her broad shoulders like curtains – I then found a cord. A silver cord, except it was like millions of steel cables holding them together. I was enthralled.
It was a familiar scent and picture, I remembered it from anywhere – Didyme, my wife before her unknown death and before I sunk into this untimely boring lifestyle.
Aro was left unmoved as the prisoner tried to scamper from Demetri and Felix’s stronghold, Jane was standing opposite, her gaze hardened and full of amusement.“Jane!” The room echoed with piercing screams, her illusion of pain was spilled against the walls as the afflicted vampire was in torturing pain.
When it was over, he begged through his parched lips, “Please! I have a wife, we needed the blood.”
Now standing, his black robes billowing around his silhouetted figure, Caius strode towards the vampire, his hands curling like talons. “We made rules, young one; one was to never reveal your true self. Answer me,” he snapped uncontrollably. “Do you think feeding in front of a crowd is revealing yourself?”
“Yes it is, but you don’t understand,” the young vampire stammered underneath the immense strength of Felix. With his shoulders buckling under the weight he fell to the cold stone floor, I watched intently.
“Silence! You needn’t explain, you broke the rules and your punishment is death,” he hissed.
Arm’s raised, eyes red as flowing blood Felix and Demetri slid into crouches, teeth exposed.
“Wait! I know about Didyme!” The young vampire cried and my mind stopped, yelling a pause I slithered from my chair and caught the vampire’s chin – my mind in the most perplexing turmoil.
“What do you know?” I snarled.
Without a hesitation Aro opened his eyes wide, his ears having heard all of the conversation. His face was filled with utter rage and disgust, Caius sneered in revolt at the prisoner. It was over.
“It was him,” he sneered pointing towards Aro. “Your own brother-in-law.”
“Kill him!”
Within an abrupt second the two vampires sunk their teeth into the young vampire, his screams echoing through the abandoned halls. His body crumpled like crushed dust, the diamonds that were once embedded in his skin where removed in a sudden act of violence. Once his body parts where collected, they were burned – a sweet pungent odour sticking on my tongue.
My heart, which was once frozen, was now beating steadily, “Is it true?”
“It’s time you knew the truth.”
