Michael Sheen Will Reprise His Role As Aro in The Breaking Dawn Movie!
Breaking Dawn Movie cast announcements have been released left right and center, but we haven’t heard much about who will be returning from the Volturi cast members, or the humans. However, we do know, thanks to Variety, that Michael Sheen (aka Aro) is returning to reprise his role. They write:
The British thesp closed his deal with the studio to reprise his turn as Aro, the leader of the vampire royalty Volturi.
Bill Condon is directing “Breaking Dawn,” based on the final tome in the series, in two parts. Book centers on the mortal Bella (Kristen Stewart) marrying the vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella giving birth to a half-vampire, half-human daughter.”

Michael Sheen (Aro) Talks ‘Breaking Dawn’
Michael Sheen, who played Aro in New Moon, recently chatted with MovieLine about Breaking Dawn. He explained that he still isn’t sure he’ll return for the Breaking Dawn movie, but hopes he will!
And now I’ll showcase my own lack of imagination by asking about Twilight. We’ve asked some of the principals here and there how they’re feeling about it coming to a close, and with Breaking Dawn on the way, I was wondering about your take.
I think it’s a very different experience for me than it’s been for a lot of people. I’ve had very little to do with it, to be honest. I’ve done one film!
You’re part of the culture, though, and—
I’m part of the culture, but in terms of what will it mean to me when it’s over? Very little.
Are you not involved with the last two?
Yeah. I mean, hopefully that’s going to happen. And it might be different then. But it’s totally different for Rob and Taylor and Kristen and Ashley and everyone. They’ve gone through the whole thing. It’s changed their lives completely. Ultimately I did two weeks on the set and one press junket and the premiere. And it was fantastic. I loved being a part of it. It’s such a delight that my daughter is into it. I’ve loved being a part of it so far. It hasn’t had the same impact for me; maybe by the time Breaking Dawn comes around, it will have.
I only ask because you’ve been reported to be attached.
Well, my character is in it. It’s not done and dusted yet or whatever. But I’m hoping.
So you’re not actually confirmed?
Not yet, no.
Hmm. Well, I hope that works out.
Me too!

Michael Sheen (Aro) ‘will likely return’ for ‘Breaking Dawn’
As excited as we all are for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse to come out, it hasn’t stopped us Twi-Hards from thinking ahead to The Breaking Dawn Movie. So far there has been minimal information released about the fourth movie, Breaking Dawn, but we are hoping Michael Sheen will return for his role as Aro – and it seems as though he will:
Adding the list of actors who have expressed an interest in returning for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is Michael Sheen, who portrayed “Aro” in The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
This weekend, Sheen’s Alice In Wonderland debuts in theaters, and to promote the film he did an interview with the Toronto Sun about his increasing involvement in young audience-friendly films.
Apparently, despite the fact that his resume spans two decades, his daughter Lily has only just become a fan of his work. Prior to New Moon, Sheen had done Frost/Nixon, The Queen, The Damned United, the Underworld series, and more, but Lily didn’t quite fit the demographic of viewership for those projects.
“Having spent years and years doing films in which she had no interest in whatsoever, either because she couldn’t watch them because they’re too scary, or she didn’t want to watch them because they’re too boring,” Sheen says, “now to be able to do films that are slam-bang in the middle of what she’s interested in, it’s fantastic for me as a dad.”
It seems that this growing tradition will continue, too, if Sheen reprises his role in Breaking Dawn. As you know, only a portion of the “Volturi” is present in Eclipse, and “Aro” is not one of those who journey to Forks, Washington in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Some worried that with the absence of certain characters in Eclipse some of the actors might move on and not return for Breaking Dawn. Of course, the same was true for Sarah Clarke (“Renee”) from Twilight who was not present in New Moon but did indeed come back for Eclipse.
The Toronto Sun, however, might have just dispelled any concern that Sheen has found better and brighter by reporting the following: “Although his character is absent from this June’s next Twilight movie, Eclipse — “I can sit back and watch all the others have to go through that again,” he says, smiling — he will likely return in the fourth, Breaking Dawn.”
