Alice Cullen will soon be a fond movie memory, along with The Twilight Saga, but the actress Ashley Greene is a legend in the making with several film titles in the works.
She sat down quietly at the head of the table in Johannesburg for an intimate interview session on a promotional tour for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 2.
“Before coming to Johannesburg I was lucky enough to go on safari,”Greene said when asked about her first impressions of South Africa.
“I’m in awe of your open spaces. The air is clean and crisp here.”
With only 15 minutes of face time with the actress we had to get to detail about the series.
“Twilight took me from working at a restaurant to having a career and a fan base,” said Greene about the major recent change in her life.
“We didn’t expect it to turn into what it did,” Greene added when prodded about the frenzy around the final instalment of the saga.
“The great thing was that the cast got along, and we were forced to create a really strong bond because we had to live through it.”
Greene also shared a surprising revelation, that she hates watching herself on screen.
“It’s uncomfortable watching yourself,”she said. She loved the movie making experience more.
“An optimistic character like Alice illustrates how pessimistic people generally are. I’m more positive because of it,”Greene said.
As interview time ran out, somebody had to ask the question that Greene has been bombarded with since The Twilight Saga’s rapid success. “I’m for Team Edward, because of the whole Cullen thing. Vampire through and through,” she said, smiling.
“I’m planning to come to South Africa again. My family and I are already planning the trip,”she said. With a smile, and a graceful thank you, Greene was whisked off to Montecasino for a fan event.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 2, opens in cinemas on 16 November.
