Christina Perri appeared at Hartford radio station 96.5′s Acoustic Cafe this weekend where she admitted she saw the Breaking Dawn Part 2 movie and could be part of the Breaking Dawn part 2 soundtrack!
“I might have seen the last film (Breaking Down Part Two) too, and it’s pretty amazing,” she teased, before adding. “I might be involved in that. I’m not really allowed to say though… just a hint.” And with the bomb dropped that Christina may be back for another round of Twilight music, she played her last song, joking “I’m sucking at secrets today!”
Breaking Dawn movie soundtrack artist Christina Perri sat down with Access Bay Area magazine to chat about her contribution to the soundtrack and what inspires her!
“I’m actually most excited about the fans,” says Perri, a self-proclaimed member of “Team Edward,” as she shows off her wrist tattoo that reads “bitten” in the title font of the book series. “I think ‘twihards’ are my people and my tribe.”
Perri is the only superfan, however, to garner an advanced screening of Breaking Dawn’s first installment, and to write the first single off the motion picture’s soundtrack: a warmhearted wedding ballad called “A Thousand Years.”
“I just felt this movie was super romantic and this song that I wrote was the vibe of the movie,” she says. “I wrote it about the purest type of relationship and marriage and all this stuff that I don’t know anything about. I had to jump into their relationship in my head. For it to be chosen is magic — It’s been my favorite thing ever.”
And love is the recurring, profound muse that fuels the majority of her songwriting process.
“My songs are all inspired by love, but even more so the feelings that come with love,” says Perri, who has been a lyricist since age 15. “Like the good and the bad, the fear and sadness, just as much as the excitement and butterflies — I think I have songs that cover all angles of that.”
The Bert Show intern Marisa headed over to Atlanta’s Buckhead Theatre to chat with the actors of the new Twilight installment, Breaking Dawn – Part 1, and the musicians behind the soundtrack. I just received my new newsletter from Breaking Dawn soundtrack artist Christina Perri and she talks about her ‘Breaking Dawn‘ story!
“two years ago i made a bucket list with my best friend full of all the things i could possibly dream of. keltie + i deemed 2010 “the 10″ and it was going to be the best year of our lives.
fast forward to july 2010… every single thing on my list came true (ie. quit smoking, sign a record deal, open a savings account, meet jason mraz.. etc..) seriously. it was epic + it all happened.
so this past year keltie + i decided to do it again + this time were were going to dream even bigger! the number one thing on my list this year was: “HAVE A SONG ON THE BREAKING DAWN SOUNDTRACK”
and it happened!!!!!! ahhhh!!!!! + the whole soundtrack seems amazing! im soo honored to be smack in the middle of all those artists! i am so grateful for this opportunity!
“a thousand years” is a brand new song me + my best friend david hodges wrote for bella + edward. we wrote it after we so luckily screened the movie (ahhhh! you’re all going to flip out its the best movie ever!!!)
i couldn’t be more proud of this song.
or more proud of myself for not giving up on my dream.
the moral of this story is:
everything is possible!
manifest your dreams!
never ever ever give up!
