Robert Pattinson Talks ‘Breaking Dawn Part 2′ At Cannes!
During his visit at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival Robert Pattinson took some time to briefly discuss Breaking Dawn part 2, admitting that he thinks the final film is ‘odd.’
On ‘Breaking Dawn Part 2‘ being funny:
“This one is so odd that it becomes kind of funny,” Pattinson told the Star.
“Now that Bella’s not human, they’re just on Mars now. Everyone in it is a lunatic!”
On the ‘Breaking Dawn Part 2‘ Posters:
“Even the posters. I just saw the posters the other day and . . . suddenly there’s a different look. Because all our posters have been exactly the same, until the last one. It’s crazy. I kind of like them.”

Robert Pattinson Talks The End of Twilight & What’s Next With Movies.ie!
Movies.ie posted this interview they did with Robert Pattinson where he talks about the Breaking Dawn movie, the end of doing Twilight films and what’s next for him!
How did you find your last day on set, sad, happy?
Robert Pattinson: The last day in Canada was semi-miserable: we did two weeks of night shoots and it was freezing cold and it was horrible. But the actual last day in St. Thomas, in the Caribbean, was pretty amazing. The one time we had to shoot in nice weather, it was literally the last day of the shoot, and we were shooting on the beach and were just making out in the sea all night. That was the last day, so I was like, “That was not too bad!” It was a nice little send-off.
Was it a big party? What was the feeling on set?
Robert Pattinson: It was nice. The very last day was really nice. In Canada, on that last day, there was 120 people on that last scene, so it was stress right up until the last second, but in the Caribbean, it was just me and Kristen, we had done everything, we hardly had anything to shoot, it was just a couple of extra bits, and so it was really nice and everybody just stayed and watched the sun rise. It was really beautiful. It was a nice end to it.
Are you sad that it’s all over now?
Robert Pattinson: I don’t know yet. I feel like I have been in a whirlwind for so long that I don’t really know. I feel like I have been doing it for years constantly, even though I have done other movies in between, because whenever you do and promote or talk about another movie, you’re always talking about <Twilight>, so it is kind of constant. But I don’t know. Maybe in a year or so. I know when the last one has come out, it will be, but I know right now I have another year of basically doing Twilight stuff.
Do you look forward to the hype all being over and you can get back to doing other things?
Robert Pattinson: Yeah, but it’s always a good thing to have a bit of hype, especially nowadays. But I don’t know. I will be interested to see how people perceive me in a couple of years, because it seems as though people have been talking about the same stuff about me for about three years now, so I am wondering how long that will go on for. But I don’t really know how to predict anything.
How did you prepare for Edward and Bella becoming parents in this film? Did you draw on anything from your own childhood?
Robert Pattinson: Not really. No-one really knows how to be a father when you first begin – there’s no way to prepare for it. And it’s very easy to react to holding a baby, especially when the baby is looking like a newborn and you have just delivered it – it’s very simple, as it’s just crying in your hands, so you end up being very careful with it and stuff. But it is strange when Mackenzie (Foy) starts playing Renesmee, as you suddenly have to think, “My daughter is now 11. It’s two months after she is born and she can speak.” So that was a complicated thing to play. But it’s a fantasy movie, so I guess you just go along with it. It is the ultimate fantasy, I guess, to some people, that you can avoid all the annoying parts of having a kid, if they’re already fending for themselves. It’s like having a puppy. Just leave it alone and thank you very much.

Breaking Dawn’ Costume Designer Michael Wilkinson Talks Working on ‘Breaking Dawn’ Costumes!
Michael Wilkinson, who was in charge of costume designing Breaking Dawn part 1 & Breaking Dawn Part 2, spilled about which designers he worked with for the second-to-last film of the franchise, Robert Pattinson’s shorts phobia, Kristen Stewart’s enviably taut physique and more!
MTV Style: How familiar are you with Twilight as a whole?
Michael Wilkinson: You have to have been living under a rock not be the least bit familiar with these books, they’re so much a part of the public psyche of pop culture. You can know about them through mere absorption. That was part of the appeal of working on this for me—being involved with something that’s such an important franchise for so many people.
Let’s talk Rosalie. She has such a huge role in this movie.
Yes! I was so glad for Nikki, it was a great opportunity for her so show what a great performer she is. She’s got such different tonalities, for the wedding she obviously has a different personality from Alice so we went for something very dramatic, floor-length with a very high slit up the leg and it catches that great hourglass silhouette. We looked at the poise of the movie stars of the ‘30s and ‘40s so they were our references.
Edward looked phenomenal in his tuxedo. Details on the boys please!
We put a lot of work into that too because we wanted to have them display a special, made-to-order feel. We didn’t want people to feel like you could just go out and buy them.
Well, there’s nothing off-the-rack about any of this.
[Laughs] No off-the-rack! Never. I drew up my ideal ideas for all the tuxedos. We wanted them to have a vintage feel, that sort of Edwardian turn-of-the-century vibe. Edward says, “I’ve been waiting a hundred years to marry you,” so we thought Alice would have fun riffing off of that.
But at the same time we didn’t want it to look theatrical, we wanted contemporary, young, and fresh. I drew up something that combined the lines of Edwardian formalwear and we made it up in beautiful contemporary Italian wools and gorgeous shirting materials. We had a fantastic collaboration with Brioni. Do you know Brioni, the wonderful Italian tailors?
Uh, seriously? Do I know Brioni? Obvi. Come on Michael…
[Laughs] I’m sorry, of course you do. So I sent my drawings over to the incredible tailors at Brioni in Italy and they sent back these beautiful suits. That was a really fun.
Can we get onto a really important topic now? Um. Edward. IN SHORTS. Discuss.
How crazy is that?
Insane! I’d never dreamt that I’d see the back of that man’s knee.
There’s going to be so many inches of journalism written about this.
It’s breaking news. It’s MAJOR.
It’s a challenge to put an Englishman in shorts.
And Robert Pattinson is an Englishmen.
They have an instant freakout! I think it has to do with their public school uniforms that they wear as kids.
